Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-07-26

AceLah is currently in free trial. We take your (and your child's) privacy seriously — here's what we collect, how we use it, and how it's protected.

What we collect

  • Account info: name, email, password (stored encrypted — we never see it in plain text)
  • Practice data: answers, accuracy, mastery scores, mistake book entries
  • Class info: if you join a tutor's class, that tutor can see your progress within that class
  • Feedback you submit, plus optional contact details
  • Usage analytics: we use Google Analytics to measure traffic (page views, rough region, device type — anonymised, aggregate) to understand usage and improve the product. This uses analytics cookies and does not include your name or practice content.

What we don't collect

No NRIC/ID numbers, home addresses, or payment/card details. We don't process any payments at this stage.

How we use it

Solely to provide the product — progress tracking, mastery scoring, mistake book, and tutor class management. We never sell your data to third parties or run third-party ad tracking.

Children & parental consent

AceLah is aimed at P1–P6 students, so most users are minors. Under Singapore's PDPA, children under 13 generally can't give valid consent on their own — a parent or guardian should consent and supervise use. We don't serve ads to children, don't build ad profiles, and never sell any user data; even with Google Analytics, ad personalisation and related signals are turned off. A parent/guardian can contact us any time to access, correct, or delete a child's account and data.

Storage & security

Data is stored with our cloud database provider (Turso) over encrypted connections. Passwords are stored hashed, never in plain text.

Data retention

We keep your account and practice data while your account is active, to provide the service. When you delete your account or ask us to, we delete or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable time (except where the law requires us to keep it). Google Analytics keeps only anonymised, aggregate data on a short retention window.

Your rights

Under Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA), you can contact us any time to access, correct, or delete your account and data.

Contact / Data Protection Officer

For data-protection matters (access/correction/deletion, parental requests), contact our Data Protection Officer (DPO): hello@acelah.com, or reach us via the feedback page.

We're iterating quickly — this policy may change as the product evolves, and we'll update the "last updated" date above when it does.
